Not a Gun.

Fear can make you see crazy things. Like a gun. That’s a sad truth for black Americans, who are three times more likely than white people to be killed by police. To raise awareness of this issue and to offer a solution, we partnered with Courageous Conversation Global Foundation, to launch the “Not a Gun” campaign.

We started working on this one in early 2019 and released it in February 2020. News of an infectious disease called the coronavirus was begining to dominate headlines, and our campaing launch was a fairly subdued one. As the spring and summer picked up, we heard (and witnessed) the murders of Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd. We extended the campaign to “Being Black is Not A Crime”, a film that spoke directly to the circumstances of these murders. The integrated campaign included film, web, OOH, print and social.
